Depression

Depression is a medical condition leading to persistently feeling worthless and hopeless. People have an inability to find any pleasure in life and find they cannot take any interest in it. The condition may lead to sleep deprivation, agitation and difficulty concentrating.

Doctors use a set of guidelines and questions to determine whether you have depression. They might also run tests to rule out other conditions or medications possibly causing the depression.

If you are feeling depressed, you might wonder if you are the only one who feels the way you do, however, this is not the case. When you are depressed, everyday life can feel difficult. It is not the same as having the occasional 'blues' or feeling down every once in a while, depression can be mild, moderate or so bad it affects every part of your life. If this is how it feels remember depression is treatable and feeling better is within your reach.
