Princes Trust

What is it?

The Prince's Trust is a charity, which aims to help young people succeed. HRH Prince Charles, The Prince of Wales, set it up in 1976.

The Trust targets young people aged between 14 and 30, who have fewer opportunities than others, such as those who are unemployed, leaving care, homeless or experiencing some form of discrimination.

What does it do?

The type of support it can give can vary but includes: grants to help a young person towards education, employment or training; residential training programmes for personal development, such as music and cookery courses; opportunities to work in Europe and assistance with the setting up and development of new businesses.

What is new in the Trust, this year?

Group Millennium Awards
These financial awards are given to groups of young people to enable them to address community needs and issues by the development of creative and inspiring projects.

To be eligible for a Prince's Trust Millennium Award, applicants must: be in a group of between 3 and 12 young people; be aged between 14-25; lack opportunity in some way e.g. live in rural area, be a single parent or have been unemployed for a substantial period of time.

How do I make contact?
