Examples of young people's active involvement in the design, delivery and evaluation of the Connexions Cumbria service:

• Young people take part in the selection and recruitment of staff for which they have received training.
• Young people were consulted on the design and appearance of Connexions Centres.
• Young people from a wide range of backgrounds are involved in our Panels.
• Young people have been trained as 'Mystery Shoppers' and visited Connexions Centres to assess the service against the quality standards they helped draw up.
• Young people have been consulted about the design and content of information and publicity material and the Connexions Cumbria website.
• Young people take part in the yearly self-assessment process for the service.
• Young people are receiving accredited training

Recognition of the hard work young people are prepared to put in is rewarded through accreditation wherever possible and incentives including direct payment or vouchers for some involvement but often sighted by young people as most important a diverse range of personal development activities, social and fun opportunities are always being planned and organised by the young people themselves.
