Running Away

Various reasons cause many young people run away. Often, they are seeking a solution to some kind of problem or they have allowed someone else, who also wants to run away, to influence them.

Most young people do not realise that this can be very dangerous, especially if they do not have accommodation.

The question every young person should try to answer is 'what is the best solution to my problem?' after all, running away only adds another problem, it is not a solution.

If you are thinking of running away, examine your reasons for wanting to leave home. In most cases the reasons can be solved by talking to a friend, family member or your personal adviser. There are always people to help. If you really have to leave, let it be the last resort because life on the streets is not exciting or fun, and circumstances you find yourself in can change your life completely, and not for the better.

Be sensible - be safe - talk, don't run.
