Counselling

Successful, healthy and fun relationships are invaluable for a stress-free, fulfilling life. But sometimes the relationships in your life need a little work… and you may need to think about visiting a professional counsellor. Lots of people do!

Think about who you have relationships and friendships with. Who do you see a lot of each day or week? It could be your:

  • Parents
  • Partner
  • Child
  • Brothers and sisters
  • Extended family such as aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents
  • School friends
  • Work colleagues

Have you got a problem dealing with one of the above or maybe someone else that you see regularly? Counselling can help you to understand why you do not get on with this person, and help to fix this relationship.

You may also be worried or troubled by something in your life. Perhaps you are having trouble at school or don't like your job, maybe you think that you are too young to be a parent or are troubled about the future. Counselling can help!

There will be a counsellor near you. They will run one-to-one meetings as well as workshops and be able to provide lots of useful advice. To find out where a local counsellor is try the following websites which are listed below.

You can talk to a Samaritan counsellor on 08457 90 90 90 or talk to a childrens' counsellor on the phone by calling Childline on 0800 1111, a free 24-hour helpline for children and young people.

You can also speak confidentially to one of Connexions personal advisers, by phoning our free phone number: 0800 435 709
